Leopold's Maneuvers
Leopold menevra with profits made over the baby's position during the examination, presentation, and the level of engagement is determined.
- 1. Leopold maneuver: palpating the uterine fundus to determine which part of the fetus here (head or breech).
- 2. Leopold maneuver: palpating the left and right sides determined the position of the fetal back.
- 3. Leopold maneuver: to determine whether the engagement of the leading portion.
- 4. Leopold maneuver: the level of the leading portion is determined.
Leopold mavevra have been identified by the German gynecologist Christian Gerhard Leopold. Today, ultrasound is utilized to verify the findings set out in this maneuver. Especially in obese pregnancy and polyhydramnios it may be difficult to implement successfully the Leopold maneuver. Before starting the examination, the patient will benefit by emptying the bladder of urine.
